Optional Icebreakers: “People Bingo” (from Diverse Universe Elementary Lesson Plan) or “Aliens” (from How to be a Good Listener Lesson Plan.) Instruction:. Discussion About Diversity: o Ask students if they know what the word diversity means. Tell students that: 'diversity is a word that we hear repeated a lot. In Diversity Bingo, students move around the room to find other students who fit the categories on the Diversity Bingo Card. Although five spaces in a row is a traditional bingo, challenge your students to cover all of the squares on their card, getting to know as many of the students in the class as possible.
Purchased packs are electronically delivered and contain either 10, 25, 50 or 100 randomly generated bingo cards of the 2 page free sample on this page. You may print these packs over and over again forever.
Host Instructions:
- Decide when to start and select your goal(s)
- Designate a judge to announce events randomly or as they happen
- Cross off events from the list when announced
- First to get any line (up, down, left, right, diagonally)
- First to get the four corners
- First to get two diagonal lines through the middle (an 'X')
- First to get all squares
- Check off events on your card as they occur
- If you complete a goal, shout 'Bingo!'. You've won!
- The judge decides in the case of disputes

All the words used to describe people in Part 1 represent groups of people who are discriminated or used ie treated negatively by other people.
So many of your friends or people who you have contact with regularly will have been bullied, picked on, belittled by others. But you don’t see them negatively because you know them as your brother, sister, aunt, grandfather, friend, boss, neighbour, etc.
