Having the second pick in the NHL Draft in today’s game could really turn a franchise around. Take a look at the last two guys that went number two: Patrik Laine and Jack Eichel. Both guys are already the faces of their respective teams, and fans see them as a sign of VERY good things to come. Eichel scored 24 goals this season, matching his rookie year numbers despite playing 20 less games. Hischier had 86 points in 57 games in the QMJHL this year and could provide the scoring spark which the Flyers desperately need. On top of that, SB Nation said this to describe Hischier: “Works hard. Scores hard. Loves the game.” If that doesn’t give Flyers fans chills, I don’t know what else will.
